http://bit.ly/2lR5fG5 While a Duke Energy plan to build a combined heat-and-power project at Duke University remains on hold, the company is quietly moving ahead with a $50.8 million CHP project at Clemson University. Duke Energy Carolinas proposes to build a 16-megawatt, gas-fired power plant on the campus. The plant will produce electricity for the grid. Duke will use the excess heat from the natural gas turbine to produce steam, which it will sell to Clemson for university heating.
